Week 02 Player Feature: Manroop Clair

Aug 3, 2018
Vancouver Basketball Pro-Am

Manroop is a name that hasn’t been around the local basketball scene (playing wise) for a number of years of now. Manroop was one of the first BC players to test the Prep School route leaving a successful Burnaby South team after his grade 11 year. He would attend two prep schools in a couple of months, before landing at the prestigious Huntington Prep School in West Virginia - playing with eventual NBA #1 Draft pick Andrew Wiggins.

Following his time in West Virginia, Manroop would begin an NCAA Div 1 career at Hawaii before returning closer to home playing at Seattle University. After three seasons with the Seattle Redhawks (one redshirt year and two years playing), Manroop left Seattle for Vancouver to attend personal matters here at home. With his personal matters taken care of and behind him, his eyes returned to the court - specifically here in Vancouver where he recently signed with the UBC Thunderbirds and will be able to finish out his last two years of varsity eligibility.

Catch Manroop and the Thunderbirds in Week 03 as they take on the Royals. Tip-off is at 7:00pm on Monday August 6th at the Richmond Oval.
