Week 07: Game Previews

Sep 2, 2018
Vancouver Basketball Pro-Am

Entering the final two weeks of the 2nd Annual Vancouver Basketball Pro-Am, the standings in the top positions have stayed close all season long. Here are the match-up previews entering the important Week 07.

Team XV vs Blues - 7:00pm

Team XV had a strong start to the season but has suffered two consecutive losses to drop them down the standings into 4th place. With a number of injuries can Team XV stay competitive? The Blues are still looking for their first win - could it come against Team XV. If Denver Sparks-Guest continues to put up big numbers, he could single handedly lead the Blues to victory.

Vikes vs Academy - 8:00pm

Both teams are just looking into the playoff picture as they hold the 5th and 6th spots on the standings. For Academy, this win could put them into the fourth position, but for the Vikes this would put the pressure on Academy in Week 08 fighting for the playoffs. Coming off a huge performance from Chris McLaughlin in Week 06, the Vikes have a lot of momentum building in the tail end of the season.

Royals vs Falcons - 9:00pm

The Falcons are looking to get back on track after consecutive losses. If the core of the Falcons can stick together, Elliot Mason, Jitt Lohcham, Brody Greig, and Dominyck Coward will be tough to beat. The Royals have continued to improve all season as players have arrived in town, a statement win here in Week 07 could let them sneak into a playoff position

Thunderbirds vs West Coast - 10:00pm

According to the standings, this will be the game of the night as the #1 and #2 teams face off in Week 07. The undefeated Thunderbirds continue to impress in the Vancouver Basketball Pro-Am behind the strong play of their veterans Pat Simon, Jadon Cohee, and Manroop Clair. The firepower from those three could be enough for a win against any team. For West Coast, Drew Urquhart and Donte Makazu are coming off strong performances - look for them to battle in the paint all night long for West Coast.

Games tip-off this Monday September 3rd at 7:00pm at The Richmond Olympic Oval.
